Snip and Rissiepit Educare in Silveroaks, Kuilsriver, is a registered Educare center with a child-centred, play-based program enriched by our nurturing environment. We follow a theme-based program that provides developmentally appropriate activities that target all the domains of development: social, cognitive, fine and gross motor skills.

Snip and Rissiepit Educare is a government registered Educare Centre that values a child-centred, play-based program enriched by our warm, home-like, and nurturing environment. We follow a themed-based program that provides developmentally appropriate activities, which target all the domains of development (social, cognitive, fine and gross motor skills).
We believe that each child can grow and develop at their own pace through exploration and interaction, both inside and outside the childcare center. Our goal is to help children develop a positive self-image, a sense of responsibility and independence. We plan to achieve this through positive guidance and unconditional acceptance along with the support of a good relationship between parents and staff.

Infants (3 to 12 Months)
Care in a Nurturing Environment:
Snip and Rissiepit infant teachers are trained to interpret the infants’ cues to ensure basic needs are met. We know that the best learning environment comes from the bonds of trust that are established between child and teacher. Our teachers prioritise regular communication to give parents peace-of-mind throughout the day.
Home away from Home:
Infant classrooms are organised and structured to maximise mobility. Toys and physical features of the room facilitate each child’s sensory experience. Outside play trips provide different views of the real world and a array of sensory stimulation.
Growing bodies and minds:
The Snip and Rissiepit infant programs are designed for comprehensive individual development at each child’s natural pace. Each infant’s day is filled with responsive interactions, abundance of language and active exploration through all five senses.
Toddlers (1-3 Years)
Valuable Interactions:
The Snip and Rissiepit toddler program is designed to be an interactive experience between the classroom, the teacher and the children. Toddlers learn through sensory play experiences that enhances their cognitive, language, motor and social skills.
The Group Experience:
Toddler teachers create a daily schedule to establish a consistent routine for the while class. Daily activities and curriculum are organised to foster growth in every aspect of the child. Teachers are active participants in group play, giving guidance on social and emotional awareness.
Curriculum for the Individual child:
Toddlers learn self-expression through new vocabulary and planned activities. Their growing independence is encouraged through adaptive skills, such as washing hands, potty training and putting on shoes and dressing themselves. Toddlers begin to develop their sense of self within the class through daily active involvement.
3 to 4 Year Olds
Curious minds and energetic bodies:
The Snip and Rissiepit program is designed for children who are emerging from toddlerhood and have boundless energy and curiosity. Daily lessons and activities strengthen foundational knowledge and understanding in all learning domains.
Independent and Co- operative Play:
Teachers plan opportunities for children to build confidence and independence. Children begin self-dressing, complete potty training and taking care of toys. Children participate in co-operative play and practice identifying their own emotional as well as empathising with others.
Step by Step:
Children practice self-expression and sentence formulation through daily lessons to build literacy and communication skills. Children strengthen their fine and gross motor development through a variety of activities inside the classroom and during outdoor exploration.
Grade RR & R (4-6 Year Olds)
Growing into the Future:
The Snip and Rissiepit program gives children the skills to be successful in school. Classroom projects and team sports promote teamwork in and out of the classroom. Autonomy for every child is fostered through shoe- tying, bag-packing, and independent potty-ing.
New Concept:
Teachers recognise that Grade RR and R children are independent and eager and receptive to learn new concepts. A balanced option of self-directed and teacher-directed activities assist at channeling the kid’s energy for skill development in each learning domain.
Skill Building:
Grade RR and R children practice self-expression through dramatic play and story-telling. Learning centers within the classroom enhances the individual experiences specific likes and interests. Children gain tools to be successful for school through pre-reading and pre-writing activities that require increased periods of engagement.

Official Outings
Snip and Rissiepit do two official outings a year from ages 2 and up. The outings teach the children about the outside world and self-discipline, and they learn through exploration and experiences.
